Located in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Pioneer Construction Co., Inc. was founded by Mr. Michael Cavage in 1996 as a PA corporation. Since Pioneer’s inception, we have grown from 12 employees to an average of 200 employees. This growth has been attributed to preforming work in broad range of markets including: small-scale demolition projects, multi-million dollar sewage treatment plant renovations, underground utilities, and civil work. Here at Pioneer, we pride ourselves in providing skilled careers with a culture surrounded by safety. We guarantee competitive pricing fit for your budget and projects that perform to plan; both of which have made us one of the finest utility contractors in Northeast, Pennsylvania.
In 2013, Michael Cavage was named Businessman of the Year by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and Contractor of the Year by the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) in 2006, adding to our success and commitment to the community.
Our Commitment to Safety:
Pioneer Construction Co., Inc. is dedicated to the protection, safety and health of its employees. We have established a safety and health program to prevent injuries and illnesses due to the hazards of the workplace. Employee involvement at all levels of the company is critical for us to be successful in this effort. To accomplish this task, a joint worker/management safety committee has been established along with a full time Safety Professional and Safety Officer. This safety committee meets monthly to bring workers and management together in a non-adversarial, cooperative effort to provide information and recommendations to management about occupational safety and health conditions and practices, and to provide a forum for information exchange.
Our Safety Director administers all our safety programs, visits jobsites and enforces all safety precautions as per our comprehensive Safety Manual. Our company’s safety manual defines its policies and procedures and a copy can be made available as per our client’s request.
Attention to safety in daily routines shows by our on-the-job safety record, compensation experience modification rating and recognition from the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) with the Safety Awards for 2007, 2011, 2012 and 2013 for Large Category (greater than 150,000 man hours).
